The time

The time is near

To begin this life of leisure

Just kidding, I’m typically functioning

On four hours of sleep daily

Working through the sunlight to

Afford playing at night

Splitting self in half to

Continue the dream of this double life

 

The time has come and

Has given life to thoughts about

Fluttering butterflies that

Are dying to get out

From the pit of my stomach as

They fly towards my throat

Choking me senseless

On my anticipation and hope

Minstrel of Grief

 

There’s a phantom in my closet singing hymns to me

A shrouded black creature that wills himself to be:

A human, a lover, a minstrel of grief

Surrounded by nothing but his lost memories

Is it time or life that he comes to seek?

I know I’m alright if I feel the cold breeze

Because feeling is living, whatever that means

Lessons to learn from the nameless beast

Happy Friday the 32nd?

Hey Everyone, welcome to Friday! I wanted to send out a quick message to promote a band I love named ‘The Chromaphones.’ They are based out of Madison, Wisconsin and give off a funk/jam band vibe. They are releasing their newly recorded album tomorrow (Recorded, mixed, and mastered by drummer Will Bailey) titled “Friday the 32nd.” I am super stoked about it!

The album is titled after the same song of its name as an instrumental, written by keyboardist Graham Marlowe. Lead vocals and guitar are shared by Tim Coughlin Jr and Cheyne Trost, who also switch out bass between songs. A couple of my favorites are “Don’t Wanna Know,” “Venus,” “Unrequited,” and “My Vitamins.”

I am so proud of these guys and I can’t wait to share their music with you.

Happy November! I can’t believe this year is almost over, how bizarre! I moved across the US, started a new job, and started a band. It’s been hard to find time to write!
